Midwifery and obstetric nursing (OBG) is one of the most demanding parts of the B.Sc Nursing curriculum. Before students are posted to a labour room, they spend time in our OBG Lab practising each stage of care on simulators and models.
A faculty member first demonstrates the procedure. Students then repeat it in small groups — preparing the delivery tray, positioning the mother, supporting the delivery of the baby and recording observations — until each step is fluent.
By the time students begin their clinical postings, they already know the equipment, the sequence and the safety checks, so they can focus on the mother and baby in front of them.
